Introduction
The Department of Philosophy was established in June 1965.The faculty believes that education is a two-way traffic and teachers and students are co-passenger. To materialize such an idea the faculty always taken steps for the betterment of the students. One such step is to involve the students in interaction programmes. The teachers organise seminars on different topics. Besides, the departmental colleagues realize their social commitments too.
Vision of the Department
In the present scenario of globalisation we are so much influenced by western philosophy and culture that it has become difficult to maintain the identity of Indian philosophy. This department visualizes that our students equipped with new ideas and a stronger social concern would act as pioneer to eradicate social evils and create awareness in various spheres.
