A Brief History of Women's College, Agartala

Women’s College situated in the heart of Agartala with a total campus area of 9 acres is one of the premier institution for women’s education in Tripura. Established by the Government of Tripura in 1965, the College made a humble beginning with students. Initially affiliated to Calcutta University, it now enjoys affiliation under Tripura University (a Central University) and offers quality education both in Arts and Science stream.

Women’s College has a dedicated and sincere faculty for whom the general well-being of students is of utmost importance. They are renowned for their meritorious profile, versatile talent and dedication to the cause of education. The College strives to inculcate ethical and moral values in the students and encourages them to become integrated, honest citizens capable of handling their careers and lives effectively.

The College has produced women who have excelled in various profession and have contributed in numerous ways to society at large. So while no compromise is made so far as teaching is concerned, the teachers are always ready to support and encourage the students in other co-curricular activities as well. A cordial yet informal teacher-student relationship exist in the College creating an atmosphere conducive to all round progress and over all personality development Seminars and workshops are an integral part of developmental activities.
