Introduction
The Department of English of Women's College made a humble beginning in 1965 with only one guest lecturer, but gradually the teaching activities of the department have acquired a wider perspective with the introduction of courses like English Major/Honours, Core/Elective in English, compulsory English, Foundation (MIL), Communicative English, spoken English Programme and a General paper for BCA. The overall performance of the department is extremely good. Many students of the department have qualified in different competitive examinations, including NET/SLET.
