Introduction
Department of English of Women’s College started
its exalted voyage since the inception of the college in 1965. This
department is keen on the all round development of the students to make
them face the challenges of the fast changing world courteously.
Faculties are resolute to flourish the budding talents of students by
adopting different teaching methods keeping at par with the demand of
time. The department nurtures a great bond among the students and
teachers as well as the alumni which is reflected in the academic as
well as co-curricular activities of the department. The department
regularly publishes its wall magazine titled ‘Endeavour’ which nurtures
the creative and critical impetus of the students. The department feels
proud of its ‘Self Composed’ section which is the reflection of the
students’ spontaneous outpourings. Organizing National, International
seminars, webinars, invited lectures; role play is the signature
enterprise of the department. Around the years, several laurels have
been brought for the institution by the students of this department.
Teachers of this department are dedicated enough to burn like candles to
light up the lives of the students. Mentoring and monitoring each
student as their friend, philosopher and guide have always been the
motto of the teachers. Introduction of PG in English in 2022 adds
another feather of glory to this department.
